Stephen D. Peet was a Congregational minister in southern Wisconsin. However, he true love was anthropology/archeology especially of the mound Indians. He was a member of the first graduating class of Beloit College - the college still preserves an unopen mound.In addition to his own books, he was an early editor of The American Antiquarian an Oriental Journal. He writes in the style of his time which means it is not easy reading. But it well worth the effort in order to gain insight into the beginning of serious studies of Native Americans.Product details
