The second effort of Kaylea Cross' Crimson Point Series, Buried Lies was far more interesting to me than her first foray into a different genre but I continue to have a difficult time finding the interest necessary to invest back into the murder suspense series I spent so many years and dollars on. There just is not enough action for me. And I could never keep the names straight in this book.
I suspect part of why I have a difficult time moving away from the SpecOps books is because I enjoy the different world, reading of women who do a tough uncommon job with great skill as well as interacting in a collegial or adversarial role with their male counterparts. There seems to be a difference in the intensity of the connections in these stories. I don't know quite what it is, perhaps the type of action is different. I am not sure but whatever it is, it decreases my pleasure and involvement. This alone leads me to believe I will continue on another path.
Having said that, it is my bias, and though I will likely finish the series out, I will not buy another book in the murder suspense genre again. I wish Cross well and mourn the passing of her great Spec Ops. And to you readers who thoroughly enjoy these books, good on you. Cross is a wonderful author. It was a magnificent ride while it lasted.

Buried Lies is the second book in the Crimson Point Series. I'm falling in love with the town of Crimson Point and the people who live there. Poppy and Noah are a wonderful couple. I loved how patient and supportive Noah is. Poppy is strong and resilient and a great balance to Noah. The bad guy was definitely bad and creepy. Thank you Kaylea for another amazing story. Can't wait for the next in the series to come out!
I loved this newest addition to the Crimson Point series. Ms. Cross gives strong leads in Noah and Poppy. I was totally drawn into their story and routing for them. I also love how Ms. Cross runs other storylines (Molly, Carter and Jace) without distracting from the main story. She finds a perfect balance. I can't recommend this book enough, and have already pre-ordered the third book in the series.
After reading Cross’ Action packed romance series (HRT, Titanium, Bagram, Colebooks, this one does not disappoint! There are military connections, as well as law enforcement, but this one is a true romantic suspense. Great story filled with suspense and empathy for Poppy who picks the town of Crimson Point to start her new life and business. Noah is the ultimate hero, and the perfect HEA partner for Poppy. Looking forward to the next one, Shattered Vows.
I've loved Noah since the first book -- he's a tough guy with a soft spot for people he cares about. Poppy is one tough cookie -- she has survived a difficult childhood and starts over in a new town and has the good fortune of moving in next door to hot cop Noah. She gets put through the ringer in this book -- not easy to read. But what a great hero she has to find her and rescue her from a nightmare! I like these characters and the friendships among the group.
I loved reading about Noah and Poppy! Noah was jilted by his former fiancée and didn’t really trust in romantic relationships anymore. Poppy survived more than any young girl should have to. Despite that, both of them are moving forward with their lives.

Now, Poppy is Noah’s next door neighbor and is working hard to become an integral part of Crimson Point, where Noah is also the sheriff. There is danger ahead for Poppy and Noah has to work quickly to save her. This is a story you won’t want to miss!
Kayla Cross's Buried LIES is her 2nd book in her Crimson Point series of romantic suspense stories. Noah is older brother to Sierra from book one & the town sheriff. Sweet Poppy is a new arrival to town & owner of the book store/cafe. Something dark from ber background troubles her.

I enjoyed seeing these two get together, first as neighbors, then more as Noah earns her trust. But danger lurks in the form of a serial killer. Noah is exactly the skilled and attentive lover Poppy needs. Beckett & Sierra from book one appear. Jase & Molly from book 3 also figure prominently.

I can count on Kaylea Cross for gripping action & a great romance. She doesn't disappoint with Buried Lies.
First of all, I have to confess I am a Kaylea Cross superfan. I generally love all her stories. But I think Poppy is one of my favorite heroines. She doesn't have the kick butt technical or tactical skills that some of Kaylea's heroines do. But she is an everyday hero because she is a survivor. She hasn't just survived; she has thrived. She didn't let her unfortunate upbringing and being used and discounted by others change the very sweet person she is inside. I was rooting for her all the way, and she justified my support.
It goes without saying that Noah is the kind of guy we all wish we had. all of Kaylea's heroes are.
She promised the villain would be one of the evilest she has created, and she didn't disappoint. He had the kind of under the radar evil that makes neighbors give interviews where they never suspected they lived next door to a monster.
All in all a great read.
