This book was fantastic!! The most epic showdown we've all been waiting for. Gin Vs. Mab!!!! Elemental duel to the death!!

This book was everything I could have asked for in the final book to a series. No loose ends, action of mass proportions, the answers every reader waits for, etc. Unfortunately, this is NOT, I repeat 'NOT', the final book in the series.
Why Ms. Estep felt the need to continue on in the series, when the ending was so perfect, is beyond me. This book basically ended where the very first one began. Almost word for word "I'm Gin Blanco, and I kill people." That's it. The end. Over and done with. The significance to the changes in circumstance in which she felt the need to say these words is quite monumental.
In the first book, Gin's words were said as a type of warning to her target that she was abut to kill her in cold blood. In this book, however, they signified the help she was willing to provide to a little girl in desperate need of Gin's specific skill set. It was very well done, the absolute reverse in meaning to a statement that saw little change. I thought it was quite clever and was a perfect end to a well done series.
Once again, though, Ms. Estep apparently wasn't satisfied with that ending and so the series has progressed with far more books than are worth the stories that they hold. What a bummer. So much potential. Why did you have to go and ruin it with MORE BOOKS? I hate it when an author feels the need to continuously add unnecessary books. Five, I would say, is the absolute maximum that a series should contain before the series goes downhill. If you feel the need to write so much, start another series. Is that really so hard? Many authors do it all the time. Ugh.
Regardless of my frustration to dealings after this book, Spider's Revenge was absolutely perfect and very much worth the time put into reading it.

Spider Revenge Elemental Assassin Book 5 Jennifer Estep 9781439192641 Books Reviews

Finally! Finally!! Finally!!!

This is the book were s*** goes down and stuff really starts to happen.

This is the book that was intense most of the way through and I couldn’t put it down.

This is the book that didn’t only use threat of rape for a plot point

This is the book that I thought our heroine might not get out of alive (yeah I know there are a ton more books so it was unlikely but you know what I mean)

This is the book that we get the backstory of Sophia

And THIS is the book with the ‘I love you’ moment I’ve been waiting for.

FINALLY!!! It took 5 books to get to one that I really enjoyed from start to finish and didn’t want to strangle Gin at some point. But finally we are here. Now if the momentum can just keep going on.
Ok now this book is the one that I have been waiting for since I started this series. Gin finally goes after Mab and the fight for her life begins. We start this book out by Gin deciding to take out Mab but of course some events postpone it. Gin soon learns that Mab has bought in tons of bounty hunters and put a bounty and her and Bria's head. This is where things get interesting for Gin and the Spider starts plotting her revenge. I loved Gin even more in this book because she was willing to do anything it took to keep Bria safe and alive. I loved seeing her and Bria learn to deal with their relationship also and head towards building it into something better.

This book is even more action packed than the other books in the series and I think this may have been my favorite out of them all. Aside for all the action I loved seeing how everyone was rallying behind Gin for her to pull off taking down Mab. I loved seeing them all function as a family and of course the love between Gin and Owen is continuing to be another reason why I love this series. Owen is such an awesome guy and the confidence boost that he gives Gin is so wonderful. I love that Gin is realizing that she is worthy of being loved and that she also deserves to be loved.

The final showdown that takes place between Gin and Mab in one word is spectacular. I loved seeing them spare against each other because they are both so powerful and even though you knew how it was going turn out their was a lot that happened to lead up to it. These ladies were both amazing elementals and they really brought it out in this battle. I loved every minute of it and this is why I continue to dig this series and Gin best of all. I am interested to see the fallout from this book and to see if all of Mab's minions will leave Gin alone. I have a feeling she will have some dark days ahead of her as people try to grab that top spot but of course she will handle it well. Overall this was another great read and one that you definitely need to read
Gin Blanco, aka The Spider, returns in book five of the Elemental Assassin series, Spider's Revenge. The main purpose of this book is going after the fire elemental, Mab Monroe. In the previous book, she was toying with Mab. I knew she would have to deal with her once and for all and it was going to be a big battle. I wasn't let down, the face off was years in the making. Mab was the one who murdered Gin's mother and sister when she was just a child. She also tortured Gin, and left her mark on her by burning a spider medallion into her hands.

Gin has a lot to lose if she doesn't manage to kill Mab. Since the beginning of the series, she has slowly been putting down roots and caring for people. Finally reconnecting with her long lost sister, Bria she can't afford to lose her now. Add in that Gin and Owen are moving to the next level, they're being honest and accepting each other for who they are. She can't afford to make any mistakes.

I really enjoyed Spider's Revenge. It was a pretty intense read, that had me wondering if Gin would be able to pull it off without getting herself killed in the process. I highly recommend the Elemental Assassin series, and I will be listening to the next audiobook in the very near future. If you're not a fan of audiobooks, I'd recommend trying out this series. I was never fond of audiobooks until I ran across this one.
